2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition – Discovery Pavilion
The 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition was a one-time, unequaled event. In the Houli Forest Park, branches of old trees swayed in the wind and flowers blossomed, creating pleasant surprises. Moreover, the Discovery Pavilion was the highlight of this site. The unique exterior, accompanied by old trees, created countless variations in light and shadow. The design concept was based on Taiwan’s ecology from the Dajia River in Taichung at sea level to 3,886 meters in elevation. Emphases were placed on introducing Taiwan’s natural environments and passing on the concepts of species conservation.
A team of professionals carried out exhibition planning. There were eight exhibition units based on different ecological environments. Diverse perspectives were provided to encourage awareness of the treasured species that co-exist with us. With a record-setting 20,000 visits on a single day, the Discovery Pavilion was one of the most popular attractions of the Taichung World Flora Exhibition.
Maintaining the quality of the venue and its services, arranging guided tours, and carrying out themed marketing activities were the main missions. Controlling visitor numbers, ensuring safety and security, supervising service personnel, and responding to emergencies and complaints were also key tasks. Balancing crowds at peak times, quality of visits, and personal safety was important. Even more important was providing international visitors with an enjoyable Discovery Pavilion experience.
